Not annoying at all. :) The release of 2.0 and the Application store gives a pretty good reason not to Jailbreak. But if there are certain applications you are craving that aren't available through the app store then you can always jailbreak it. I haven't kept up with the recent jailbreaking info but you will probably want to update to 2.0 first and then jailbreak. Keep in mind that you always run the risk of bricking your iPod and voiding any warranty. It's usually pretty easy to simply do a restore though.
We don't have a warranty so that doesn't really matter. But if I jailbreak will I lose 2.0 status? What did you do? I don't even know of any of the cool apps out there yet! Busy MOM! :)
I have since sold my iPod Touch and bought an iPhone. But I had my iPoT jailbroken when I had it. Now that the app store is open I don't have much of a need to jailbreak it. Especially since you will have to rejailbreak it every time Apple releases an update. It becomes a pain. I would just stick with 2.0 and the App store if you are busy. That's the main reason I don't jailbreak mine anymore.
